Nov '33 – JLM is awarded 1st Prize in Abington Flower Show; Bess got 2nd place
Nov '43 – JLM is awarded a Civil Defense certificate of Meritorious Service from Abington Township.
Apr '45 – JLM is involved with the Selective Service in Montgomery County as a Reemployment Committeeman. I believe due to provisions of Section 8 of the Selective Training and Service Act of 1940: "...its purpose to guarantee to the qualified veteran the job which he left to enter the armed forces-not just a job, but the same job or one substantially its equivalent."1, 2 people like JLM were involved in getting veterans from the war back into civilian employment.
'45e – JLM receives "Gold Button" medal from Red Cross for his blood donations. He gave 1½ gallons.
'45e – JLM receives US Treasury Award for War Finance. This is related to his work on War Bonds that supported the war effort.
